Devon grew up in a small town in southern Illinois before moving to Chicago to study documentary filmmaking at Columbia College. After her time at Columbia, she spent several years working in the theater community, both in the Windy City and, later, Seattle. Her work helped build local arts programs that highlighted the creative, passionate work of marginalized communities.
In early 2020, Devon moved to Albuquerque to better engage in social advocacy. Before beginning her work at the ACLU, she led the Boys & Girls Club of Central New Mexico's Americorps program through its inaugural year. Devon is committed to using her role at the ACLU to help advance its goals and play an active role in her community.
