Today, in the wake of a recent move by the Census Bureau to seek driver’s license records from state motor vehicle divisions in order to collect data on citizenship status, the ACLU of New Mexico and Somos un Pueblo Unido called on Governor Lujan Grisham to protect New Mexicans’ privacy.

ACLU of New Mexico Demands Release of Two Eritrean Men Detained for Months in Otero County Processing Center

CHAPARRAL, NM - Yesterday, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of New Mexico filed Petitions for Writ of Habeas Corpus on behalf of two Eritrean men, Haben and Misanga,* who both fled unthinkable violence in their home country and sought asylum in the United States.
