Immigrant Rights Organizations Sue CoreCivic and Torrance County for Chemical Attack on Asylum-Seekers Engaged in Peaceful Hunger Strike at Torrance County Detention Facility

The ACLU of New Mexico and the New Mexico Immigrant Law Center (NMILC) today filed a lawsuit on behalf of nine asylum-seekers formerly detained at the Torrance County Detention Facility who were attacked with pepper spray for engaging in a peaceful hunger strike.

ACLU-NM and Sunland Park Settle Police Profiling Lawsuit

Today, the City of Sunland Park and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of New Mexico jointly announced that they had reached a resolution in a police profiling lawsuit filed on behalf of Las Cruces resident Oscar Gutiérrez Sánchez.
