The ACLU of New Mexico, the New Mexico Immigrant Law Center (NMILC), and the Santa Fe Dreamers Project (SFDP) demand action amid the emerging public health crisis in New Mexico’s three immigration detention centers.

Today, the City of Sunland Park and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of New Mexico jointly announced that they had reached a resolution in a police profiling lawsuit filed on behalf of Las Cruces resident Oscar Gutiérrez Sánchez.

Today, in the wake of a recent move by the Census Bureau to seek driver’s license records from state motor vehicle divisions in order to collect data on citizenship status, the ACLU of New Mexico and Somos un Pueblo Unido called on Governor Lujan Grisham to protect New Mexicans’ privacy. 

Yesterday, the ACLU of New Mexico filed a Freedom of Information Act request with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), demanding information regarding any communications and collaborations between Border Patrol and the United Constitutional Patriots (UCP).
