The ACLU-NM is calling for a thorough investigation of the police shooting that claimed the life of 75-year-old Las Cruces resident Amelia Baca on Saturday, April 16.

ACLU-NM and Ives & Flores, P.A. filed two lawsuits against Chaves County Board of County Commissioners and the NM Law Enforcement Academy (LEA) Board, on behalf of the family of Oscar Najera, who was shot and killed by two Chaves County deputies in 2021.
