The ACLU of NM sent letters to the Alamogordo City Commission and the Otero County Commission reiterating that resolutions opposing the provision of abortion care have no force of law in our state.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of New Mexico is outraged but not surprised by this draft opinion. Overturning nearly half a century of established law and ending the national right to abortion would disproportionately affect some of the most vulnerable people in our nation.
