What is happening?
The Citizen Redistricting Committee will hold a public meeting on Thursday, August 12, 2021, from 3 pm to 7 pm or until adjourned, to provide members of the public an opportunity to share public comment and testimony with the Committee before they begin the development of district maps for New Mexico’s offices to be redistricted.
Where is it happening?
The Committee's hearings will be held simultaneously in Las Cruces and Silver City.
In Las Cruces, the meeting will be held at New Mexico State University, Corbett Student Union Building, West Ballroom. More info.
In Silver City, the meeting will be held at (Silver City) Western New Mexico University Global Resource Center Auditorium. More info.
What we need from you:
We’re calling on the Citizen Redistricting Committee to draw fair and functional political maps that reflect the voices, votes, and needs of each of our communities.
We are looking for people who are interested in attending either meeting on the 12th to provide input on the importance of the Commission's work emphasizing race equity as a crucial component of their work.
