Today, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of New Mexico launched a series of digital billboards throughout in response to President Donald Trump’s planned visit to the metro area on Monday, September 16th for a political rally. The billboards, located throughout Rio Rancho and Albuquerque, will run through Monday until the end of the president’s visit.
“With the president making such a high profile visit to our community, we felt it was important to be very visible in our opposition to his administration's unjust and discriminatory policies,” said ACLU of New Mexico Communications Director Micah McCoy. “We want to send a clear message that New Mexican values of diversity, family, and fairness leave no room for his bigoted and dangerous agenda in our state. ”
The ACLU is responsible for filing more than 200 lawsuits nationwide against the Trump administration’s unconstitutional policies, including the Muslim ban, family separation policy, military transgender ban, asylum ban, and others too numerous to mention.
