We cannot do this without you. Here’s what you need to know about our legislative agenda so you can join us in the fight.

  1. The Immigrant Safety Act (ISA)
Under the Trump administration, ICE has become more dangerous and less accountable than ever. This bill would prohibit local government agencies from entering into agreements to detain people for immigration violations and and remove New Mexico from participation in Trump's mass deportation agenda—protecting our communities from an agency that is growing more dangerous by the day.
  2. The Driver Privacy and Safety Act (DPSA)
New Mexicans should be able to trust that technology used by law enforcement keeps us safe. This bill ensures that data collected by Automatic License Plate Readers (ALPRs) cannot be shared with out-of-state agencies, federal entities, or private companies if they intend to use it in ways that violate New Mexico’s values—like tracking immigrants or people seeking abortion care.
  3. The New Mexico Community & Health Information Safety & Privacy Act (NM CHISPA)
Our state has strong protections for LGBTQ+ people, immigrants, and those seeking reproductive or gender-affirming care, but our data is still vulnerable. NM CHISPA puts control back in our hands by requiring opt-in consent for data collection and by preventing corporations, federal agencies, or hostile out-of-state prosecutors from using our personal information to target or surveil us.

We will also fight to defeat bills that further criminalize our communities, and push instead for real safety solutions that address the root causes of crime.

In a time of growing threats to civil liberties and rights and across the nation, thank you for fighting alongside us to protect the safety, health, freedom, and privacy of all New Mexicans.
