Internships

We occasionally offer paid internship opportunities for individuals interested in civil liberties and social justice. These are temporary, learning-focused roles designed to support people exploring careers in these fields. All internships are hybrid, and interns must be based in New Mexico.

Our internship opportunities typically include:

· Communications

· Policy-focused internships

· Law clerkships for current law students

· Summer internships (early June–late August)

· Annual internships (up to 12 months)

We generally begin recruiting each April. If you would like to be considered for a future internship, please email [email protected] with your resume and a note of interest that includes:

· Why you’re interested in interning with the ACLU of New Mexico

· The time frame(s) and approximate hours per week you’re seeking

· The type(s) of work you’re most interested in learning about

Due to the volume of interest we receive, we are unable to respond individually to every inquiry. Thank you for your commitment to civil liberties and your interest in working with us.

We also offer many rewarding opportunities to make a difference in New Mexico through our volunteer program. To volunteer with the ACLU of New Mexico, please visit our volunteer portal.
