Immigrant Day of Action

January 28, 2019 @ 11:00 am
January 29, 2019 @ 2:45 pm

In communities across New Mexico, undocumented immigrants are being targeted and separated from their families. The Trump administration wants to divide our communities and shame and blame families who have moved to this country to live in peace and free from danger. When people cross borders their human rights come with them, so we need to ensure that everyone, including immigrants, have basic rights and focus law enforcement resources on protecting local communities.

This upcoming legislative session, we have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to move the cause of liberty forward in New Mexico. A new governor and shakeups in the legislature mean that, for the first time in eight years, we have multiple opportunities to pass legislation that protects and extends our freedoms. But if we’re going to succeed, we need your help!

The ACLU in partnership with Somos Un Pueblo Unido, CAFé, and El Centro de Igualdad y Derechos will be providing transportation for anyone interested in attending this rally from Las Cruces or Albuquerque.
