Sofie joined the ACLU as a Paralegal for the Legal Department, focusing specifically on rights for incarcerated folks. She is from New York City but prefers to spend her time in quieter cities with more space, time for pausing, community networks, and opportunities for creating roots. She is an active advocate for LGBTQIA+ communities as well as folks who are incarcerated through legal and media advocacy, visual arts, and community organizing. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Tufts University in Latin American Studies and Visual Arts and is passionate about finding creative ways to tell stories for underrepresented communities. She joins the ACLU team with prior experience supporting civil rights litigation for incarcerated communities and is committed to ACLU's multi-faceted justice approach.
