Legislative Program
Much of the ACLU of New Mexico’s work to protect civil liberties is carried out in the legislative halls of our Capitol in Santa Fe. We maintain a strong presence in the Roundhouse. Through lobbying and grassroots organizing efforts we directly influence more than 100 bills each regular session that have civil liberties implications.

Legal Program
The ACLU of New Mexico’s Legal Program undertakes litigation that advances and defends constitutional rights in New Mexico with an emphasis on cases that have a broad policy impact. The ACLU of New Mexico represents ordinary people who have experienced an injustice and have decided to reclaim their rights.
The ACLU of New Mexico litigates over 50 cases each year under the guidance of a panel of four dedicated, volunteer civil rights attorneys. The work of the ACLU is supplemented by highly respected volunteer attorneys who donate their time and talent to litigate ACLU cases.
